A graduate of the Lovett School, Spenser Simrill, Jr, teaches writing and film at the University of Georgia. His documentaries have appeared in numerous film festivals, on Georgia Public Television, and in the online editions of The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NME, among others.
At Lab Atlanta, he hopes to help students find voice and audience through custom-built websites. He believes Lab Atlanta's interdisciplinary approach and design theory model can help students apply their inner passions to the needs of their communities. He loves all things Atlanta—sports, music, food, fashion, arts, urban design, history, business, politics—and finding new places in the city to spend time with friends and family. The prayer of St. Francis guides his teaching philosophy: In giving, we receive. In understanding, we are understood.
